I Am Old, I Am Old, I Shall Wear My Trousers Rolled

Today's reason to feel old? This Wil Wheaton post, where he describes what happens when he watches the 1985 Live Aid DVD with his stepsons.

Among the highlights:

* The boys mock Bono's 1980's mullet
* They can't believe that Phil Collins ("that wussy Tarzan guy") was once an international superstar
Google Envy

As if I didn't have enough reasons to envy Google, now my son's favorite daycare teacher is leaving to join Google's on-campus daycare facility. On-campus daycare is one of the perks that large companies can offer that most startups can't.

I wonder if there is a market for startup-oriented office parks with on-site daycare facilities? I know that I would certainly be interested!

Sorry about not posting much recently--both my kids and I have been sick. I've been to the pediatrician 6 times in the past 4 weeks, and I made my own pilgrimage to the sawbones yesterday. I am now loaded up on antibiotics and prescription antihistamines!

I did get a visit from my old friend Frans Johansson, the author of The Medici Effect. I can't tell you what he's working on, but I can assure you that it will knock your socks off when it comes out!

If you're free this evening, I heartily recommend that you attend his talk at SDForum.
