Money Can Buy Happiness

New research shows that the old saw that money can't buy happiness has an important exception--you can buy happiness *IF* you spend it on someone else.

"Spending as little as $5 a day on someone else could significantly boost happiness, the team at the University of British Columbia and Harvard Business School found.

Their experiments on more than 630 Americans showed they were measurably happier when they spent money on others -- even if they thought spending the money on themselves would make them happier."

I'll be forwarding this story on to all of my friends. Especially my rich friends. I could use my own private basketball court.

There won't be any money, but as Bill Murray's character Carl Spackler said in the movie Caddyshack after having caddied for the Dalai Lama :

"But on your deathbed, you will achieve total consciousness."

So you've got that going for you!
